The Strolling Minstrel was Drew's first solo album released in 1999/2000 after thre break-up of Barakade. Drew Barrett's debut contains 11 fully produced songs. Drew plays all of the instruments, with the exception of two bass guitar tracks. With infectious hooks and hard rock edge, Drew's music weaves a sonic tapestry of powerful rhythms and sweeping guitars behind strong vocal arrangements. Drew's production techniques, lyrical & vocal style, and an emphasis on strong songs with catchy melodies all combine to create his own unique signature sound.

Soldier SongSoldier Song is Drew's heaviest tune off of The Strolling Minstrel. It is a classic Anti-war song. Please think about joining any peace movement.
- A Song for Sara
A Song for Sara is not about a girl, but instead a baby calf Hope and mother cow Sara. Inspired by the book "Diet for a New America by John Robbins," Drew wrote a song depicting what it would be like in a Slaughtering Factory. See if it gives you the chills.
- Lovers
- Lovers is a ballad that features Drew's sister Corinne Barrett sharing lead vocals.
About the Recording
The Strolling Minstrel was produced by Drew Barrett and all songs were written by Drew, with the exception of "Is There Somewhere Else We Go," which was co-written with Brent Nicholaysen. Corinne Barrett is featured sharing lead vocals on the song "Lovers." All instruments were played by Drew wtih the exception of bass guitar on "Soldier Song and Is There SomeWhere Else We Go," which featured Lenny Rocillo.
